The Company
Cambridge Temperature Concepts is developing technology for the continuous monitoring of human body temperature. Our first product will be the DuoFertility system, a non-hormonal and non-invasive patch that allows women to accurately identify ovulation cycles, without daily observation.
The DuoFertility device can be used by couples trying to conceive in order to determine when ovulation has occurred. Our early studies have already shown that the continuous measuring of skin temperature throughout the night could allow more accurate and rapid determination of changes in body basal temperature - a well-known indicator of ovulation. The system is also much more convenient than existing methods because temperature information is automatically recorded and stored, to be downloaded wirelessly whenever it suits the user.
Cambridge Temperature Concepts was started by a group of students from the University of Cambridge in England, and has won both the Downing Enterprise business plan competition, providing £20,000 in seed funding, and the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs Business Creation Competition, providing £15,000 in milestone-linked grant funding.
The company will soon begin recruiting women for a small user test, if you are interested in learning more or perhaps participating in the trial more information can be found here.
